Recognized internationally as a leader in Integrative Medicine and EDTA Chelation Therapy, Dr. Miranda has been a practicing family physician in Western Pennsylvania for over 30 years. Fully trained in traditional medicine, Doctor Miranda specializes in incorporating nutritional supplementation, and other alternative therapies in a comprehensive patient treatment plan.  Doctor Miranda's patients are active participants in the pursuit of their own health. 

Dr. Miranda is a graduate of Saint Vincent College and Penn State’s Hershey School of Medicine and has twice been certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He has been a member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) since 1981. In 1992 he was elected Fellow of ACAM. He has served on the board of directors, as President, Program Chairman, and Advisor to the Board. He is past Chairman and currently on the teaching faculty of the ACAM workshops on EDTA Chelation Therapy, and Metal Toxicity. He also teaches other doctors how to integrate IV therapies into clinical practice. Dr. Miranda has been a diplomat of the American Board of Chelation Therapy and has demonstrated advanced proficiency in chelation therapy. He is past President of the American Preventive Medical Association and served on the Board of Trustees of Capitol University of Integrative Medicine in Washington, DC.  He has been an invited speaker in the United States and several foreign countries including Brazil, Mexico, Italy and Austria.


Billie A. Miranda has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's degree in Counseling Education from the Indiana University of PA.  She is a member of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback and carries certification from this national organization since 1984. She is a member of the American Association of Counselors, the American Association of Behavioral Therapists, the Biofeedback and Behavioral Medicine Association of Western PA and Phi Kappa Phi. Her specialties include health counseling, relationship counseling, relaxation techniques, biofeedback training and microcurrent electrical stimulation in stress and pain management. 

In 1981, Dr. Miranda’s interest in preventive and nutritional medicine and Mrs. Miranda’s interest in biofeedback and counseling led them to establish the Wholistic Health Center.


SANDY MARTINELLI,  LPN—A deep-rooted employee, Sandy joined the staff in 1988. She graduated from WCCC in 1970 with her LPN Degree. She has worked at Monsour Medical Center on the Med-Surg floor and in the Out-Patient Clinic; and with Dr. Ramaswamy, an orthopedic surgeon with McKeesport and Jeannette Hospitals, and Dr. Barua, an orthopedic surgeon at Jeannette Hospital & Monsour Medical Center, as a clinic nurse and she assisted in the OR.

BARBARA CASSELLA, RN—Joined the staff in 1994. Barb has an AS Degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University and an ASB from New Castle Business College. She has previously held a RN position in the ICU-CCU of Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights PA, and Critical Care Classes at Shadyside Hospital , Pittsburgh PA.

JOANNE HINES—Joined the staff in 1994. As our receptionist, Joanne is the smiling face that will first greet you when you visit our office. A true multi-tasker, she has held many different positions in her past, some of which are: receptionist for Dr. Baughman, DC; personal secretary / mortgage rep / insurance rep/delinquent spec. for Greensburg Savings/Atlantic Financial Bank & Loan; personnel secretary, receptionist, and switchboard for International Paper Co., and a teller for Gallatin Bank.

LYNN MOORE—Joined the staff in 1998. In charge of billing, Medicare and HIPAA compliance, Lynn came to the Wholistic Health Center with an extensive background in medical office billing and management. For 17 years, Lynn managed and did billing for a thoracic cardiovascular surgeon. During this time she also served as a billing consultant and trainer to a Home Health Agency, medical billing company and several physicians.

SHIRLEY GOODNIGHT—Joined the staff of the Wholistic Health Center in August 2003. A “vital” part of our office, as she is responsible for recording all vital information from the patients prior to their appointments, and doctor’s order afterward. Attended West Penn School of Nursing. Medical work history includes: Pack Medical Group, New York City, NY; Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, Jeannette; Dr. Howard Monsour, Manor; and Dr. Dong H. Kim, Surgery, Jeannette.

DIANA BRUNO—Joined the staff in Feb. 2005. Diana manages all aspects of our supplements including patient order fulfillment, stocking, shipping and account maintenance. She also serves as the Administrative Assistant to Dr. and Mrs. Miranda. Some of her work experience includes: Administrative Assistant at Ranbar Electrical Materials in the Accounting Department, Quality Control Technician at Ranbar Electrical Materials, and Chiropractor Assistant at Webb Health Centers.

MARY ANN LAUFFER, PhD—Joined the practicein 2008, as a Lifestyle Educator in our Therapeutic Lifestyle Change program. Dr. Lauffer has an extensive background in wellness and health promotion. She was an Assistant Professor with Penn State University (at the Monroeville Campus) for 12 years, in a masters program in Health Education for clinical professionals specializing
in patient wellness and education. She holds a Masters degree in Counseling
from Duquesne University and a PhD in Education from the University of
